Got this comment from a dear friend who shared her concern about my illness last week. She asked that I place it on my blog so that others could comment on why those who claim Christ as Lord get sick. Please feel free to leave any comments you have as.
She starts with a caring question.
How are you feeling? I hope your bronchitus is all cleared up by now. I will pray for God's healing touch on you. Remember that according to the Word of God, healing belongs to you, and your Heavenly Father does not want you sick for one minute.
According to Peter all of the sick people Jesus had healed during His earthly ministry had been oppressed of the devil. Jesus also confirms that in John 10:10 "The thief (devil) cometh only to steal, kill, and destroy. I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly." There are several more Scripture references that back up what I am saying, Isaiah 53:1-7, Matthew 8:17, Mark 16:18, James 5:14 &15 but I will not belabor the point.

Well, we live in a fallen world, under the curse of sin. Sickness and death is a part of that.
Should we pray about is? Certainly. Is it not God's will that His people are sick? Sometimes. But sometimes not.
Paul asked the Lord three times to remove his thorn in the flesh, and God said no.
That is a great example for us to follow. Pray, and then wait for the Lord's answer. Whatever that answer may be, whether it makes sense to us at the time or not, we know that it is best.
Glory to God always, regardless of our circumstances.
Tom,
This is for your friend. There was a man who was blind. He had that sickness for more than one minute. The bible said the reason for the sickness was so that God would be glorified. Also Lazarus. He was dead for more than a
minute. 4 days. That is very sick! And it was Gods will as Jesus intentionally did not heal him until 4 days later. Why. So that God would be glorified. It is false teaching to say that God never allows sickness at anytime. He does. Please be careful with such deceptive use of Gods word.
Love Rob-Roy
